Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Hours AI service ("Service") and supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension, termination, or legal action.
1. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Service to engage in or facilitate:
- Illegal activity, including violations of applicable labor, wage, hour, anti-discrimination, or privacy laws.
- Uploading or transmitting content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise unlawful.
- Infringing the intellectual property rights, publicity rights, or privacy rights of any third party.
- Distributing malware, viruses, ransomware, or other harmful code.
- Phishing, spoofing, or otherwise misrepresenting your identity or affiliation with any person or organization.
- Unauthorized access to or interference with the Service, another customer's account, our infrastructure, or any connected system or network.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of any system without prior written authorization.
- Sending unsolicited bulk communications (spam) or otherwise misusing the Service's messaging features.
- Using the Service to develop a competing product, scrape proprietary data, or train competing machine-learning models.
- Circumventing usage limits, billing controls, or other Service restrictions.
- Using AI-generated outputs as the sole basis for employment, disciplinary, or compensation decisions without human review.
2. Acceptable Use Examples
The Service is intended to support legitimate workforce management for shift-based businesses. Acceptable uses include:
- Generating and publishing employee schedules and managing shift assignments.
- Tracking attendance, time-off requests, and shift swaps.
- Communicating schedule, shift, and operational updates with employees you manage.
- Exporting scheduling and attendance data for payroll and compliance.
- Reviewing AI-generated recommendations and applying manager judgment before publishing schedules.
3. Reporting Abuse
If you become aware of activity that violates this AUP — for example, harassment through Service messaging, suspected account compromise, or content that infringes your rights — please report it to support@hours-ai.com with as much detail as possible. We investigate reports in good faith and may share information with law enforcement where appropriate.
4. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and, at our sole discretion, take action including (a) warning the account owner, (b) removing or quarantining content, (c) suspending or throttling access to features, (d) terminating accounts, or (e) cooperating with law enforcement. Where feasible, we will attempt to provide notice and an opportunity to remediate before suspension; we may act without notice where required to protect the Service, other customers, or third parties.
5. Updates
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
